How to read a shirt size
Long Sleeve Shirt sizes usually look something like: "16 1/2 34/35". The first number indicates the
neck size, and the second set of numbers is the sleeve length. So a shirt of this size fits a man with a 16 1/2 inch
neck and 34-35 inch sleeve length. See below to learn how you can measure your correct size.
Short Sleeve Shirt sizes only have a neck measurement. So the long sleeve shirt mentioned above would
be a 16 1/2 short sleeve shirt.
Some shirts are offered in Alpha sizes, in other words: Small, Medium, Large etc. At times you may see
these sizes combined with sleeve lengths for example: "L 34/35". To convert alpha sizes to numeric neck measurements
use this chart:
| Small | 14 1/2 |
| Medium | 15 1/2 |
| Large | 16 1/2 |
| XLarge | 17 1/2 |
| XXLarge | 18 1/2 |
| XXXLarge | 19 1/2 |

How to measure
(1) First you will need to measure your neck size. Using a cloth tape measure, measure the largest part of your neck, where your collar buttons. You may want to add 1/2 inch to the measurement for comfort or, if you prefer a looser fit you might add one inch to the result. Another, easier, way to get your neck size is to use a shirt that fits you well as a guide. Lay the collar flat and measure from the center of the button hole to the far end of the button. This should be your exact neck size
(2) Next, for a long sleeve shirt, you will need your sleeve length. With your elbow bent, measure across the middle of your back - directly below neck, across shoulders, around your elbow to your wrist.
